071416 Meeting Notes

Linda Austin, Bristol Lifestyle Recovery, updated the Coalition on the status of the initiative formerly known as Project Restart. The USDA is in the process of guaranteeing 80% of the building, which is all the bank needs to proceed. Bristol Lifestyle Recovery is actively seeking MOUs. They hope to have a soft opening as soon as the final funding and paperwork is in place. Congressmen Roe and Griffith have both been updated about this initiative.

As it opens, it will be staffed 24/7. There will be case managers. Every resident will be drug screened every two weeks. Follow-up care will be provided as participants leave the residency. It will cost $800/month to live there. Three meals/day will be provided. Stipends will be sought through grant funding for those whose incomes cannot afford this housing.

This is a scaled up model of Manna House in Johnson City. Using HUD standards, their success rate is 86%.
