About Us

Vision: A Drug Free Sullivan County

Mission: Sullivan County Anti-Drug Coalition is a community working to prevent substance abuse by assessing the problem, building capacity and advocating for needed change.

The Sullivan County Anti-Drug Coalition had its first meeting on January 20, 2010. It is a collaboration of many sectors of the community working to reduce substance abuse in our county. It was begun with a grant from the state of Tennessee to: reduce underage and binge drinking in 14 - 25 year olds, reduce underage access to tobacco, reduce prescription drug abuse and become an effective coalition. This grant requires participation from the following community sectors:

If you represent one of these sectors, come help us determine the best, comprehensive strategies to change attitudes, behaviors, and create environments that make it easier for our young people to do the right thing and make it harder for them to do the wrong. We need a prevention, intervention and recovery minded community to achieve our mission.

The coalition has gone through intensive training on how to be an effective coalition from CADCA Coalition Academy. Sullivan County Anti-Drug Coalition will graduate in February 2012, at the National Leadership Forum.

The Coalition agrees, warrants, and assures that no person shall be excluded from participation in, be denied benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination in the performance of coalition opportunities or in the employment practices of the Coalition on the grounds of disability, age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or any other classification protected by Federal, Tennessee State, constitutional, or statutory law.
